Local high school engineering teams gathered at the University of California, Berkeley, for a robotic pillow fight as part of this year’s Pioneers in Engineer (PiE) competition.
The competition was founded by the California Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi at Berkeley and is in its third year of existence. Click here to learn more about the PiE program and the broader vision of introducing engineering to high school students.

The Tau Beta Pi MindSET Program continues to grow and expand its reach for K-12 students, educators, and parents.
This week MindSET is hosting a teacher training session for local K-12 teachers at Gainesville High School (FL). During the spring semester activity sessions with hands-on modules were hosted in Colorado, Florida, Michigan, & New York.

In the fall the program plans to expand into Kansas, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, & Tennessee. We encourage volunteers to work with one our 237 nationwide chapters and their local school districts to bring this program to a school near you.

The event was held this year in Houston, TX, where pre-engineering student teams competed in a round robin competition. There was also a focus on professional development with a career and college fair.
