The Easter Municipal Water District (CA) has announced the appointment of Paul D. Jones II, CA N ’81, as the new general manager.

Most recently Jones was general manager of the Irvine Ranch Water District (CA). He will begin his new position on July 25th, read the full article

Two student members of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Track & Field/Cross Country Teams have been named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America College Division teams. Read the news story

Garrett Harms, NY G 2011, was named to the First Team and Jeff Corelli, NY G 2011 was named to the Third Team. Corelli is a mechanical engineering major and long distance runner. Harms graduated in may with a double major in nuclear and mechanical engineering. He won his second straight decathlon title and was the individual javelin champion at the New York State Championships.

Jack R. Lohmann, Ph.D., P.E., has received the ASEE 2011 Global Award for Excellence in Engineering Education from the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies. Read more here

Dr. Lohmann, OK G ’74, is vice provost for faculty and academic development and an engineering professor at Georgia Tech. He is also editor of ASEE’s Journal of Engineering Education.
