Trends in Engineering: June 2011

The San Jose Mercury News recently highlighted the high demand for engineers and technology workers in Silicon Valley (CA).

According to the article, the boom of social media, mobile software, and cloud computing, is leading to qualified workers receiving several job offers at the same time. The article also discusses the shortage of qualified candidates and profiles several of the engineers taking advantage of the market.

San Diego State University will host the “Summer Engineering Experience for Kids” (SEEK) Camp, a concept designed by the National Society for Black Engineers.

More than 100 elementary students from San Diego County will stay on the SDSU campus during the week of camp. The camps will run the last week of June into the first week of July. Click here for more information
