John F. Ahearne, Ph.D. (NY D ’57), is the Sigma Xi 2011 Leo Szilard Lectureship Award recipient.

Currently, Dr. Ahearne is an adjunct professor at Duke University. He served for 11 years with the government, is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, and taught physics at several other institutions. Read the award announcement here

SAE International has announced five recipients of the Lloyd L. Withrow Distinguished Speaker Award at the SAE 2011 World Congress in Detroit.
