The North Carolina State University’s College of Engineering sponsored the recent Gateway Technology Center camp for middle schoolers. The camp “utilizes the engineering design process to ask, imagine, plan, create, and then improve on projects.”

The Sea Coast Online (NH) recently profiled mechanical engineer Sarah Carter. She was the first female engineer hired at Petersen Engineering.

A press release from GM highlights the development of digital manufacturing capabilities in the form of rapid prototyping.

Engineers are able to see and touch their designs from a computer model. “3D rapid prototyping is enabling the designers and engineers to stretch the creative envelope,” said John Green, superintendent, GM Design Fabrication Operations.
