Dr. Morse teaches engineering management at the University of Central Florida. She was the first woman to earn a Ph.D. from the UCF College of Engineering. She recently received the Bernard R. Sarchet Award in engineering management education from the American Society for Engineering Education.

The Chronicle of Higher Education published an opinion article by Dr. Thomas C. Katsouleas, CA D ’84. In the article, Dr. Katsouleas discusses “two conflicting conclusions about new directions in scholarship related to the state of interdisciplinary research.”
The author tends to agree more with the approach of Dr. Richard K. Miller (CA L ’71), president of Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, who “has observed the similarity between what is needed to solve grand challenges and what is needed generally for innovation.”

Rowan University has selected NASA aerospace engineer Confessor Santiago III to deliver this year’s Convocation address to the university’s incoming freshman class.
Santiago has had a unique journey. He began his career as a computer scientist for the FAA. After five years, he transitioned into being an aerospace engineer working “to modernize airspace system with new technology that increases efficiency and safety…” Along the way Santiago has also battled testicular cancer.
