A Chicago entrepreneur and his wife have pledged $1 million to fund engineering scholarships at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The press release profiles Avi Shaked, the donor, and two engineering students that have received scholarships from his support. One of the students is Tau Beta Pi member Elizabeth A. Wendt, WI G 2011.

A new national Engineering Research Center will be led by Arizona State University with partners from Cal Tech, MIT, the University of Delaware, and the University of New Mexico.

The National Science Foundation has awarded a grant to the University of Illinois at Chicago to “form a program for graduate students who will study computer viruses, cyber-attacks, and identity theft.”
Part of the funds will be spent in annual stipends and tuition for up to 30 students. Read the announcement
