Dr. John Dabiri, NJ D ’01, described his recent work on wind farm design in the Journal of Renewable & Sustainable Energy. His focus is on increasing the efficiency of placing turbines closer together.
His new design includes vertical-axis wind turbines. Dr. Dabiri is a professor at Caltech and director of the Center for Bioinspired Engineering. Click here for the article

Two engineering professors at Clarkson University “have acquired an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) equipped with sensors that are capable of detecting and tracking plumes of hydrocarbon in the aftermath of an oil spill.”
The instrument will be used for developing research and was obtained through a NSF grant. Read more
