Please be sure that you have submitted your travel plans for Tau Beta Pi’s 2011 National Convention in Indianapolis, IN, on October 27-29.

This is the 106th Convention of Tau Beta Pi, which will be hosted by the five Indiana chapters. Rodger F. Smith, (WI A ’64) managing director of Greenwich Associates, has been confirmed as a speaker. Click here for more information

Bill Zapalac Jr., TX A ’72, was one of eight former University of Texas at Austin student-athletes selected for induction into the Men’s Athletics Hall of Honor later this fall.

Zapalac was a three-year letterman at linebacker for the UT football team, academic All-SWC in 1969, and co-captain of the squad in 1970. He played in the NFL for three years (1971-73) for the New York Jets. Read the news release

Last week, a new engineering building, the Preston M. Green Hall, was dedicated at Washington University (MO). The ceremony included keynote speaker Charles M. Vest, Ph.D. (WV A ’63), president of the National Academy of Engineering.
