This week engineers have been rappelling the Washington Monument to document any earthquake damage from the August 23rd earthquake.

In May of this year, Captain Greg McWherter (SC G ’90) returned as Flight Leader and Commanding Officer of the Blue Angels.

The University of Maryland has announced that Michael Pecht, a professor in the A. James Clark School of Engineering, “will be inducted into the school’s Innovation Hall of Fame for making electronics more reliable, predicting when they fail, and enabling proactive programs to maintain them successfully.”

Pecht founded the Center for Advanced Life-Cycle Engineering in 1986. Read the full press release
