Marquette University has announced a donation from an alumni couple to establish an endowed chair in electrical engineering at the College of Engineering.
V. Clayton Lafferty (WI B ’50) and his wife Beverly graduated from MU in 1950. Clayton “spent much of his professional career as the head of research and development at United Parcel Service.” Read the news release

According to a report from the AP, the University of Illinois at Chicago has received a National Science Foundation grant to provide need-based scholarships in the chemical engineering department. The program will also focus on attracting first year women engineers and more engineers in general.
