Last week Robert A. Prtizker, IL B ’46, passed away at the age of 85.

Pritzker was head of the Marmon Group for 50 years, stepping down as CEO in 2002. He was also a former chairman of the Illinois Institute of Technology Board of Trustees, where he received his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. Owen Bossola, NJ A ’05, was recently promoted to lead of engineering at Qwiki. Read more about Qwiki and Bossola here

Bossola was actually the first employee at Qwiki and has held several positions with the start up that now has a “website with millions of users (and) an iPad app with over 500k downloads.”

A website dedicated to Linus Pauling’s awards and honors highlighted his Tau Beta Pi membership certificate from 1921 received at Oregon State University.

Pauling, OR A ’22, won two Nobel Prizes, one for chemistry and the other for peace.
