Beginning in January 2011, a diverse group of organizations have partnered to focus on the recruitment, preparation, retaining, and support of 100,000 excellent STEM teachers in the next ten years. The goal is for these teachers “to prepare all students with the high-quality STEM knowledge and skills needed to address the most pressing national global challenges of tomorrow.”

Plans have been announced for the University of California, Berkeley’s College of Engineering to open a Shanghai Center.

The partnership is with the Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park. For more information, read the announcement

Caterpillar Inc. and the Parametric Technology Corp. (PTC) are partnering in support of a program to develop and produce the next generation of engineers in South Dakota.

The STARBASE program is run by the U.S. Department of Defense with 75 locations nationwide with the goal “to motivate young people to study science, technology, engineering, and math.” Read the article
