Binghamton University and the State University of New York Board of Trustees has appointed Dr. Harvey G. Stenger Jr., P.E., as the seventh president of Binghamton University.
Dr. Stenger, NY D ’79, is currently interim provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at the University of Buffalo. He will begin his duties as president of Binghamton on January 1, 2012. Read the announcement

Cody Wolfle, IN E 2012, won the American Foundry Society Saginaw Valley Chapter Endowed Scholarship.
Alexander Croll, received the Paul Carey Memorial Scholarship. Croll is scheduled to be initiated into the IN Epsilon Chapter of Tau Beta Pi on November 30th. He is also a member of the varsity basketball team at Trine.

Researchers at Princeton University have published findings in the journal Optics Express related to the surprising outcome of “as much as 70 percent more light coming through when the holes were blocked than when they were open.”
The tiny holes in a thin metal were blocked with an opaque metal cap. Instead of the plugged holes completely blocking light transmission, more light actually came through the capped holes. Read the news article
