University of Iowa professor emeritus, Himie Voxman, IA B ’33, passed away last week at the age of 99.
Voxman was the director of the UI school of Music for 26 years. His undergraduate degree was in chemical engineering, but he is known worldwide for his musical publications. In 1995, UI named the Voxman Music Building in his honor. Read more

According to a press release, Stephen R. Maguin, CA O ’70, will retire effective in early 2012 as chief engineer and general manager of the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County.
Maguin is a 41-year employee of the Sanitation Districts, serving for five and-a-half years in his current position.
