Making News On Campus, Part II, November 2011

The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (SDSMT) Mathematics and Computer Science department highlighted five students joining the South Dakota Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi this semester.

The Seattle Times recently reported on a team of engineering students from the University of Washington competing in the EcoCAR2 competition.

UW’s engineering schools is known for its aviation program, but these students are developing a Chevy Malibu “that goes 45 to 50 miles on an electric charge and then switches to biodiesel and gets 100 miles to the gallon.” Read the full article

Clara E. Godsell, OH X 2012, Vice President of the Ohio Xi Chapter of Tau Beta Pi at Miami University posted an article about honor societies on her blog, Love & Honors:H&S Info.

Clara says to become a member of Tau Beta Pi, “not only do you have to succeed in class, but you also have to demonstrate a passion for the society, for success and for an education.”
