Yesterday, the Moon Express Robotics Lab for Innovation unveiled lunar micro-rovers designed as part of the Google Lunar X PRIZE competition. Click here for the press release

Moon Express has a team of eight robotics engineering students working on developing the company’s lunar explorations missions. It was also announced that Autodesk software will be used to develop the robotic technology.

Jeffrey M. Kowalski, (NY D ’88) Autodesk VP and CTO, “we are very excited about empowering the creative energy of Moon Express engineers with Autodesk design technology by allowing them to conceptualize and simulate their designs before they are real.”

The Clare Boothe Luce Program (CBL) is one of the “most significant sources of private support for women in science, mathematics, and engineering.”

This week both the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering and Xavier University announced receiving funds to expand Clare Boothe Luce scholarship offerings. Read more

At the 26th Annual Women in Aerospace Achievement Awards dinner, NASA physicist and electrical engineer, Diane Pugel, was recognized with an achievement award for “her work implementing new technologies to test candidate materials for the thermal-protection system on NASA’s Orion crew exploration vehicle.”
