Tau Beta Pi is calling on student members to submit a redesign framework for the Association’s website. The 2011 Convention approved recommendations for a consistent redesign across all pages of the TBP website.

The deadline to submit your sample design and code is March 1, 2012. Up to two members from the winning team will be offered a summer internship at Tau Beta Pi Headquarters to assist the web master in implementing the new design. Read more here

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is sponsoring a 10-week summer internship program for rising juniors and seniors majoring in homeland security related science, technology, engineering and mathematics (HS-STEM) disciplines.

The DHS HS-STEM Summer Internship Program provides students with the opportunity to conduct research in DHS mission-relevant research areas at federal research facilities located across the country. Click here to learn more about this opportunity. The application deadline is January 5, 2012.

Northwestern University has a 9-week paid summer research opportunity for undergraduates at its Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC).

Students currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in science or engineering, who are US citizens or permanent residents are eligible. The program runs from June 18 to August 17, 2012. The application deadline is February 15, 2012. Participants are paid a $4500 stipend and a travel allowance and on-campus housing is provided. For more information, visit the website
