The Barrington Patch is reporting that Kevin J. Fitta, P.E. (RI B ’85), has been appointed to the board of the Bristol County Water Authority by the Barrington Town Council.

Fitta has a background in the public water industry. Currently, he is interim director of capital projects at Rhode Island College, and previously he was the systems engineer at the Kent County Water Authority. Read the announcement

Associate dean for the Louisiana Tech University College of Engineering and Science, Jenna Carpenter, will be recognized at the White House this week “for her efforts in advancing women is the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).”

Biomechanical engineer Stefan M. Gabriel, PA K ’85, recently spent a full day teaching 300 junior high students about the science of engineering and medicine. In recognition of his efforts, he was named an honorary Old Rochester Regional teacher.

Gabriel is a principal engineer with Moximed (MA), and shared details about his research and development in artificial joint replacements. Read the full article
