Dr. Eric L. Miller, MA B ’90, has been elected a fellow by the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Dr. Miller is currently a professor at Tufts University and associate dean for research and principal investigator of the Laboratory for Imaging Science Research. Read the press release for more information

The National Aviation Hall of Fame has announced the 2012 class of enshrinees. The late Richard T. Whitcomb, MA A ’43, is one of four to be inducted.

Whitcomb was an aeronautics engineer at NASA’s Langley Research Center and is known for proposing the ‘Area Rule’ and developing winglets. Read more about Whitcomb

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has announced that David J. Beebe, Ph.D. (WI A ’87), will receive a Point-of-Care Diagnostics Grant through Grand Challenges in Global Health. Click here for the news release

A professor of biomedical engineering at UW-Madison, Dr. Beebe “will streamline methods for preparing patient samples such as blood and urine, among others, for point-of-care diagnostics in developing countries.”
