Leaders in Engineering: Past, Present, & Future

Last year, George M. White, IL A ’42, passed away at the age of 90. Mr. White was the architect of the Capitol for almost 25 years. He was appointed to the position, responsible for “maintaining the structural integrity of the U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress and surrounding grounds,” by President Nixon.

Mr. White was a practicing architect, trained in electrical engineering, business management, and law. Read the full obituary here, from The Washington Post

Mark Stibitz, PA E ’87, has joined the Board of Directors at Diablo Technologies. Stibitz is currently president and co-founder of Adaptive Chips, Inc.

According to the press release, he has “over thirty years of business management, global market strategy and product development experience and expertise spanning the semiconductor and enterprise storage markets.”

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) partnered with the Utah Gamma Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at Utah State University, to host an “Evening With Industry.” This is the third annual event, which is supported by the USU Career Services.
