Led by Sean Symon, (MD B 2012) president of the Maryland Beta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, the University of Maryland recently hosted their first MindSET activity session in conjunction with the first ever Teach For America/Tau Beta Pi STEM achievement gap awareness week.
Twenty K-12 students from the greater Maryland-area received a tour of the UM college of engineering, participated in a hands-on bridge building MindSET module, and interacted with college engineering students.

The California Epsilon Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), recently hosted a Rube Goldberg competition. “A Rube Goldberg machine performs a simple task in an elaborate sequence of steps.”
