Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) announced this week that seven student athletes have been recognized as selections on the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District 3 Track & Field/Cross Country Teams. Three from the Women’s team, including Ariel F. Mingrone, NY G 2012, recent biomedical engineering graduate and three-time captain of both the cross country and track and field teams. In May, Arthur Fong, CA A 1943, passed away at the age of 92. He worked for Hewlett-Packard from 1946 to 1995. His “engineering achievements include collaboration on the development of RADAR in the MIT Radiation Lab, impedance-measuring instruments, a line of signal generators, and the first calibrated microwave spectrum analyzer. In 1960, Fong’s designs accounted for 27 percent of HP’s revenue.”
