Dr. Amy J. Moll, (IL A ’87) the interim Dean of the College of Engineering at Boise State University, was recently interviewed for an article on the gap between male and female engineers. According to the article from KTVB (ID), the demand for female engineers is high in Treasure Valley, but recruiting women to be engineers is still a challenge.

A team of engineers from Brigham Young University “has developed an artificial spinal disc replacement that treats chronic low back pain.” Dr. Anton Bowden, (UT G ’96) assistant engineering professor at BYU, is one of the lead researchers on the research team. He was quoted in a recent news release, “Low back pain has been described as the most severe pain you can experience that won’t kill you. The LA Group Landscape and Architecture and Engineering P.C. recently hired Corinna U. Martino, VT A ’08, as a design engineer. Martino “is working on several projects including the Rolling Hills Farm resort in Westport (NY) and improvements for the Ballston Spa School District.”
Previously, Martino has completed several projects in the Albany (NY) area. She has a civil engineering degree from the University of Vermont. Read the press release
