Academic All-Americans: Cross Country/Track & Field First Teams

The Captial One Academic All-America Men’s and Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country teams were recently announced.
There were two Tau Beta Pi members on the Division I first team:

William R. Barry – (TX D 2012) civil engineering major and long distance runner at Texas A&M University.
P. Leigh Gilmore – (AL B 2012) majoring in civil engineering and a cross country runner at the University of Alabama.

There were two Tau Bates on the Div. II COSIDA Capital One Academic All-America first team:

Russell E. Drummond – (CO A 2013) a junior civil engineering major and a distance runner for the Colorado School of Mines.
Marie Patton – (CO A 2012) a 2011-12 TBP Scholar, engineering physics major, and track and field runner at the Colorado School of Mines.

There were two Tau Bates on the Div. III COSIDA Capital One Academic All-America first team:

Jeffrey B. Corelli – (NY G 2011) senior captain of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute men’s cross country team and mechanical engineering major.
Taylor W. Purdue – (NJ E 2013) majoring in mechanical engineering, sprinter, and member of Rowan University’s two-time national champion 4×400-meter relay team.
