There will be a meeting of Tau Bates in Chicago, IL, on July 12 at 6:30pm at Northwestern University Technological Institute Lecture Room 4 (LR4) (2145 Sheridan Road Evanston, IL 60208-3100). The informational meeting will be held to discuss the potential restart of the TBP Chicago Alumnus Chapter.

Nadine Aubry has been named as the dean of the Northeastern University College of Engineering effective September 1. Currently, she is professor and mechanical engineering department head at Carnegie Mellon University. Click here for the press release

The University of Tennessee has announced that Dr. Peter K. Liaw, IL G ’77, is among several to receive a Clean Coal Research Award from the U.S. Department of Energy. Dr. Liaw is a professor of engineering at UT.
UT Dean of Engineering, Dr. Wayne T. Davis (TN A ’73), noted that Liaw’s research “has the promise of increasing the efficiency of coal-fired power plants.” Read the news release
