The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology has announced that the New Mexico Gamma Chapter of Tau Beta Pi has awarded June M. Stanley, NM G 2013, with a scholarship award. Read the news announcement
Stanley works for Sandia National Laboratories and is a mechanical engineering major. She plans to continue her studies at Tech for a master’s degree. She is also a 2012-13 TBP Scholar, vice president of the NM Gamma Chapter, and an active volunteer at local schools.

Last week, Robert L. Mansfield, (TX A ’82) senior vice president of hardware engineering at Apple, announced that he will be retiring later this year. Mansfield has been at Apple for 13 years and “oversaw the engineering of every major piece of hardware Apple has debuted in the past decade.”
An article from the Business Insider detailed his important role at Apple. Tim Cook, Apple CEO (AL A ’82) was quoted by AllThingsDigital saying that, “Bob has been an instrumental part of our executive team, leading the hardware engineering organization and overseeing the team that has delivered dozens of breakthrough products over the year.”
