Texas Instruments Inc. announced this week that a student team from Rice University has been named the winners of the fifth annual Analog Design Contest Engibous Prize. The winning team’s device, mobileVision, “allows untrained individuals to take photos of a retina outside of a clinical environment for an ophthalmologist to review remotely.”

Bioengineering major Minhee Park, TX G 2012, was a member of the winning team. There were 40 engineering teams and nearly 500 participants in this year’s competition. Click here for more information

The Portland Business Journal is reporting that Oregon State University has received the largest endowment to date for the OSU’s College of Engineering. The gift was given by OSU alumni Mike and Judy Gaulke to endow a chaired position in the electrical engineering and computer science department. Read the article
