Boise State University (BSU) has announced that interim dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Amy Jo Moll, has been named dean. Dr. Moll, IL A ’87, co-founded the materials science and engineering program at BSU and served as its first chair. She has been the interim dean of the college since 2011.
Before joining the faculty at BSU in 2000, she worked for Hewlett-Packard Co. Read the new announcement for more information

At 10:32 p.m. (PST) Sunday, the touchdown of the spacecraft Curiosity was confirmed at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). The largest spacecraft to be sent to another planet, has now begun its two-year science exploration of Mars. Read an article from the Los Angeles Times.

The International Business Times profiled a new painting application for the iPad. “Set Paint Go” allows “users to select controls to set brush traits, and then sit back and watch as the brushes create an abstract picture.” The app’s creator is Eric L. Hayes, MA B ’90. Hayes received his undergraduate electrical engineering degree from MIT. Read the full article for more details on the app and its creator
