Tau Beta Pi would like to recognize the Pennsylvania Beta chapter for its recent 100-year anniversary. The chapter was established at Pennsylvania State University on May 4, 1912.

Megan M. Woodworth, CO A 2013, was recently chosen as the 2012 Capital One Division II Academic All-America of the Year for women’s soccer. She is a senior majoring in chemical engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. See the full list of Academic All-Americans from CoSida

She is the school’s all-time leader in assists. You can read about her many accomplishments on the soccer field and in the classroom here.

A new online training program for middle school students was launched this week with a focus on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The program is called Learning Blade and it “provides an entertaining, game-based format to entice students to pursue “missions” to solve challenges using both reading and science skills.” Read the full article

The program developers are chemical engineers, Dane and Sheila Boyington. Both earned degrees in engineering from the University of Florida. Dane, FL A ’83, is a Tau Bate and he and his wife are co-founders of Thinking Media located in Chattanooga, TN.
