Two collegiate members of Tau Beta Pi have been selected to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America Football first team. Luke Ruff, WY A 2013, is a senior safety at the University of Wyoming and a civil engineering major. Keegan J. Wetzel, MD G 2013, is a senior systems engineering major, outside linebacker, and treasurer of the Maryland Gamma chapter of Tau Beta Pi. Several news agencies are reporting on The Golden Spike Company, which plans to offer round-trip service to the moon by 2020. The new company is a “private space travel venture” with several former NASA executives at the helm. Read an article from The Washington Post for more

Popular Science recently covered the “longest journey ever taken by any autonomous vehicle.” The ‘Papa Mau’ Wave Glider, a maritime robot, took nearly a year to travel the Pacific Ocean, starting in San Francisco and being picked up last week in Queensland, Australia. In addition to surviving waves, weather, and wildlife, Papa Mau “collected high resolution oceanographic and atmospheric data.” Click here to read the full article
