The annual American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Southeastern Section Conference will take place March 10-12, 2013, in Cookeville, TN. The title for the conference is “Efficient and Effective Engineering Education.” The deadline has been extended for undergraduate students to submit applications and extended abstracts for the poster competition. Through a partnership between the Institute for Advanced Study and Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Opportunity Equation initiative engages national and local leaders on topics related to math and science standards, improving STEM teaching talent, and working with schools to make math and science learning more effective. In a follow-up to their 2011 study “Growing Opportunity” the group published an infographic report (2012) related to STEM education in the United States. See it here
