Structural engineer William F. Baker Jr., P.E., S.E., will lecture at Khalifa University (UAE) on February 5 at the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research. Baker, MO A ’75, is partner in charge of structural engineering at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP. “He will discuss design philosophy and why each engineer should have one.”

A NOVA PBS documentary, “Building Pharaoh’s Chariot,” will air this week and features Dr. Bela I. Sandor, IL A ’61, “an international expert on the techno-archaelogy of chariots and a professor emeritus of engineering mechanics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.”
