Ron Ulseth, P.E. (ND B ’88), will be one of the keynote speakers for the RosEvaluation Conference 2013. Ulseth is currently the co-director of the Iron Range Engineering program and he teaches in the Itasca Community College engineering program in Grand Rapids, MN. The topic of the keynote address is “Assessing Project-Based Learning: Providing Evidence for Continuous Improvement.”

The El Paso Times is reporting that engineering professor Dr. David Zubia, TX Q ’93, “has been awarded a three-year grant from the Department of Energy to research the defects of solar cells and learn how to make them more efficient.” Dr. Zubia is a professor at the University of Texas at El Paso. The Purdue University Calumet is hosting an ASM Calumet Chapter event on March 14. There will be networking opportunities, dinner, and a technical meeting. Dr. Jeffrey A. Hawk, VA A ’85, will be on hand to “discuss the current status and direction of ASM International and present an overview of The Engineering and Metallurgy of Steam Turbines.”
