Engineering News: Colleges, April 2013

Saint Louis University (MO) recently profiled the installation of the Missouri Epsilon Chapter of Tau Beta Pi on March 23. The MO Epsilon Chapter at Saint Louis Univ. (SLU) is the 248th collegiate chapter of Tau Beta Pi. The Association’s President, Dr. Larry Simonson, P.E., and Executive Director, Curt Gomulinski, were on hand for the ceremony.

Members of the SLU initiation team included, Dr. Raymond LeBeau (VA A ’90), Dr. Krishnaswamy Ravindra (PA B ’79), and Dr. Jessica Wagenseil, (CA Y ’97). In addition thirty-seven undergraduate students and six alumni were initiated into Tau Beta Pi at SLU. Read the article

Graduation is quickly approaching for Tau Beta Pi members. Be sure to order your TBP graduation regalia early to allow plenty of time for delivery. The Association offers members an engineering orange and white honor cord and a satin stole with embroidered Bent in orange. Discount prices are available to TBP chapters that order items in bulk. Also, be on the lookout for new apparel and insignia items to be available this summer in the TBP store.

Next week in Houston, Texas, the world’s richest and largest graduate-level business plan competition will take place at Rice University. The OncoFilter team from Ohio State University has high hopes for victory. Led by a junior biomedical engineering student, OncoFilter “will officially be registered as a company before the team competes.”
