Honors & Recognition, April 2013

This week the American Academy of Arts and Sciences announced the election of 198 new members in a press release. “One of the nation’s most prestigious honorary societies, the Academy is also a leading center for independent policy research. Members contribute to Academy publications and studies of science and technology policy, energy and global security, social policy and American institutions, and the humanities, arts, and education.”

Five members of this year’s class are also Tau Beta Pi members: (see the full list by section)

The Christian Brothers University School of Engineering recently highlighted the three newly initiated members of the Tau Beta Pi Tennessee Delta Chapter. The initiation took place on April 13, 2013. Two juniors and one senior, engineering undergraduates, joined the TN D Chapter this semester. They are: Kelsey J. Grover (TN D 2015); Shawn M. Jenkins (TN D 2015); and Viet Minh N. Tong (TN D 2014). Parade helped launch the Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work day two decades ago. For this year’s event on April 25, the publication profiled Jackie DiMarco a lead engineer on Ford’s F-150 pickup. She has a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Ohio State University.
