Tau Beta Pi has announced the ratification of all six Constitution & Bylaws amendments approved by the 2012 Convention. Enough ballots were received from the collegiate chapters to ratify two of the amendments and the Tau Beta Pi Executive Council voted to approve the other four. The Arkansas Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi at the University of Arkansas recently held their spring initiation. On April 23, AR Alpha initiated 22 new members and elected the 2013-14 officers — Emily K. Shields (AR A 2014), President; Stephanie Cone (AR A 2014), Vice President; and Rocky Hedrick (AR A 2015), Recording Secretary. Verizon has announced the Verizon Powerful Answers Award. Nearly $10 million in prizes will be awarded to “innovators and companies who propose the most innovative solutions utilizing Verizon’s unique combination of network, device and platform technologies to help reinvent and empower the three core areas of healthcare, education and sustainability.” The first entry deadline is June 30.
