Union College senior, Tyler M. Heck (NY M 2013) and Scott J. Staniewicz (MA D 2013) of Tufts University were recently selected for the Capital One Academic All-America Division III Baseball first team.

Heck is one of two repeat Capital One Academic All-America selections. He is majoring in mechanical engineering, was named the Liberty League Player of the Year, and ranked among the nation’s leaders in stolen bases. Staniewicz is a double major in electrical engineering and mathematics and a 2013 New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association All-New England Division III third team selection. Dupont has named its 2013 Class of Young Professors, which gives grants directly to young professors nominated by a DuPont employee. This year’s class consists of 14 young faculty members from seven nations. Four of the recipients of the DuPont Young Professor Award are Tau Beta Pi members. Read the news release
