Col. Andrew P. Armacost, Ph.D. (IL G ’89), is currently a professor and head of the Department of Management at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Col. Armacost has been selected as the next dean of faculty at the Academy where he “will command a faculty of 700 and oversee the yearly design and instruction of more than 500 undergraduate courses for approximately 4,000 cadets in 31 academic disciplines.” Read more from the Air Force Times

Stanley T. Rolfe, Ph.D., P.E. (KS A ’56), was recently profiled by the Lawrence Journal-World for his successful tenure as the interim dean of the University of Kansas School of Engineering. Dr. Rolfe has been a member of the KU faculty for 44 years, and has served as the interim dean for the past year.
According to the article, “he has done a superior job, and the engineering school has marked an excellent year, maintaining or perhaps even accelerating the upward momentum by the former dean.” Dr. Rolfe will make way for new dean Michael S. Branicky, D.Sc., P.E. (OH A ’87), on July 1.

Montana State University has named Robert J. Marley, Ph.D. (MT A ’83), as the interim vice president for student success, beginning July 1. Dr. Marley joined the MSU staff in 1990, was named associate dean of the College of Engineering in 1996, and in 2001 became the dean and director of the College. Click here for news release
Last year, Dr. Marley was chosen as one of 57 American Council on Education Fellows for the 2012-13 academic year. “As a fellow, Marley has spent this academic year working closely with the president and provost of Texas A&M University, where he was placed. The fellowship program identifies and prepares promising senior faculty and administrators for responsible positions in college and university administration.”
