Evan M. Gates, PA G 2013, was recently named as a Capital One Academic All-America® Division III Track & Field/Cross Country First Team selection. The Tau Beta Pi Association has announced the selection of a Director of Alumni Affairs. Tricia E. Gomulinski, SD A ’98, has been selected to fill this volunteer position, which has been vacant for nearly 35 years. In her new role, Tricia will be working with TBP alumni interested in starting or reactivating alumni chapters, supporting current TBP alumni chapters, organizing TBP alumni events around the country, and serving as a resource to the TBP District Directors in assisting their local alumni chapters. The New York Times covered the recent ASCE National Concrete Canoe Competition. The event took place late last week at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This year, 23 collegiate teams of civil engineering students competed by building a 20-foot-long canoe. One of this year’s judges for the annual American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) competition was Cory L. Haeder, (SD A ’96) a chief engineer at a concrete firm in Minnesota. “It’s an experience these students can get that they can’t get in class,” said Haeder. Read the article
