It is being reported that assistant professor John T. Foster, Ph.D. (TX B 2002), will contribute his expertise to a joint Department of Defense contract. Dr. Foster is one of only a few people worldwide who specializes in peridynamics. The contract is related to the DoD “scientists’ understanding and use of a mathematical modeling theory called peridynamics, which should help scientists more accurately predict material failure.” Read the article from the San Antonio Business Journal

NCFI Polyurethanes (NC) announced that Jason M. Hoerter, AL A ’97, has recently tested and received his Building Science Principles certificate of knowledge from Building Performance Institute (BPI). “My goal is to be a pure building science engineer–to see how our products can work withing the whole,” said Hoerter.
