The first two rounds of the Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft took place this week. With the 38th overall selection, Sporting Kansas City (MO) selected Adnan Gabeljic, MO E 2014, of Saint Louis University (SLU). Gabeljic is expected to graduate in May with a degree in civil engineering. During his time at SLU he was named an Atlantic 10 Conference All-Academic and twice received Academic All-District recognition. Read an article from The Kansas City Star for more information.
His soccer coach as SLU, Mike Mcginty says, “Adnan deserves this. He has been a tremendous student-athlete during his time at SLU and is a great role model for our younger players.” Read the news announcement from SLU

The Florida Theta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi recently launched a website with information on the collegiate chapter at Florida International University (FIU). The FL Theta chapter is planning several awesome events in the upcoming weeks, including volunteering at the Miami Science Museum, participating in an Engineering Expo at FIU, and hosting a K-12 MindSET activity session with St. Brendan Catholic School.

Daniel J. Bodony, Ph.D. (IL A ’97), was recently elected as an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Dr. Bodony is an associate professor and researcher in the Parallel Computing Institute at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He joined Tau Beta Pi as an eminent engineer in 2012, which is the same year that he received a CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation. Click here for more biographical information
