The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) has announced the election of 67 new members and 11 foreign associates. Election into the NAE is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer. There are 21 Tau Bates in the 2014 class, including W. Terry Boston, (TN G ’72); Katherine W. Ferrara, Ph.D. (CA U ’83); and Ian A. Waitz, Ph.D. (PA B ’86). See the full list here

The Tau Beta Pi Student Advisory Board (SAB) is a new volunteer branch of the Association responsible for providing advice and recommendations to the TBP Executive Director and identifying areas of potential improvement with programs and other member benefits. Chris M. Douglas – (IL D 2014) Bradley University senior in mechanical engineering and two-term TBP chapter president
Madison R. Herman – (OH Z 2013) chemical engineering graduate from the University of Toledo and two-term TBP chapter president
Ateeq J. Suria – (AZ A 2010) mechanical engineering graduate from the University of Arizona and TBP advisor to CA Gamma
Briana A. Connors – (OH B 2014) University of Cincinnati chemical engineering major and two-term TBP chapter treasurer
Delanyo K. Seshie – (FL H 2014) chemical engineering major at Florida A&M-FSU and TBP chapter vice president

In January 2014, two Tau Beta Pi chapters celebrated 50-year anniversaries of their installation into the Association. The Illinois Delta Chapter at Bradley University was established on January 18, 1964 in Peoria, Illinois.
