On the Move, March 2014

S. David Wu, Ph.D. (PA A ’81), was recently named as the next provost and executive vice president of George Mason University. He will begin his new position on July 1. Currently, Dr. Wu is dean of Lehigh University’s College of Engineering. He has spent 27 years at Lehigh University and has been the dean since 2004. He is also a “well-known scholar in operations research, he specializes in optimization, game theory and statistical analysis.” Read the news article for more information

Senior aerospace engineering student Alexander C. Few, AL B 2014, was recently awarded the 2014 Capstone Engineering Society Outstanding Senior Award at the University of Alabama (UA). The award was accompanied with a stipend to honor his many achievements, which include: undergraduate research in reducing rocket-nose drag, team lead of the UA Hovercraft team, and a member of the AL Beta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi. After graduating in May, Few will begin work with NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. Click here to read more
