The West Coast Conference recently announced that Pamela A. Eibeck, Ph.D., P.E. (AZ G ’79), has been appointed to serve on the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Committee on Academics as vice chair of the committee. Currently, Dr. Eibeck is president of University of the Pacific. She is a mechanical engineer with bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from Stanford University. Read the press release


The Association is saddened to announce the passing of Berhane H. Azage at the age of 27. Azage, CA G ’09, died unexpectedly in Hong Kong earlier this month. He earned both his bachelor’s (electrical engineering) and master’s (management science & engineering) from Stanford University. Click here for the obituary. He was working for Flextronics in Hong Kong. In his honor South Central Scholars has created The Berhane Azage Scholarship.

“Berhane was destined to make a significant difference in this world. The recipients of this scholarship now and in the years to come will hopefully follow Berhane’s example. Berhane was an inspiration to everyone around him and his memory will live within us forever. On Thursday, February 12, TBP Executive Director Curtis Gomulinski, MI E ’01, will host a lunch in Reno, Nevada. Beginning at 11:30am at Pinocchio’s Bar & Grill, Gomulinski will meet with alumni in attendance and provide updates on the Association, current activities, and future plans. The event is also a great opportunity to network with local TBP alumni. The RSVP date is Sunday, February 8.
