Vijay Kumar, Ph.D., has been named the dean of the University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and Applied Science. He will start his new position on July 1. Currently, Dr. Kumar is the UPS Foundation Professor at Penn and “was instrumental in the creation of several innovative master’s degree programs.” He will succeed Eduardo D. Glandt, Ph.D. (PA D ’68), who has served as the dean of engineering since 1999.

Washington University in St. Louis (MO) has appointed Aaron Bobick, Ph.D., as dean of the School of Engineering & Applied Science. His new position is effective July 1.
