The Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) has announced that Brian M. Kent, Ph.D. (MI A ’80), has joined as the senior scientist and science and technology leader for electromagnetic, radio frequency, and sensing systems. Dr. Kent “retired in June 2014 as CTO of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) after a distinguished 37-year civilian engineering career in the Air Force.” He is also an adjunct professor of electrical engineering at Michigan State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering. The Florida Theta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at Florida International University, hosted a STEM Day on March 15th for several local k-12 schools, including the Mother of Christ Catholic School (Miami, FL).
