The Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI) has announced this year’s recipient of the Process and Product Quality Division Scholarship. Garrett A. Fisher, MI K 2017, is pursuing a dual degree in both paper and chemical engineering at Western Michigan University and is this year’s scholarship winner. “After graduation, Fisher plans to work in the specialty papers industry, food science industry, or pharmaceutical industry.” Click here to read more about Fisher and this Scholarship

Most of the 25 Tau Beta Pi Fellows have completed their first year of graduate study. The only specific obligation to the Association of TBP Fellows is to submit a written report with information on their first year of graduate study and their future plans. Haikuo “Kevin” Yin, CA Y 2016, has been awarded a ASQ Inspection Division scholarship for 2015. Yin is a junior majoring in computer science at the University of California, San Diego. He has interned at Qualcomm the past two summers, is a co-founder of the start-up company Bystanders to Upstanders, and has twice received the Provost Honors academic award.
