New CEO, Community Service, & Student-Athlete (June 2015)

ControlCam has announced the hiring of Frank S. Wilson, NH A ’88, as its new CEO. According to the press release, Wilson has 25 years of experience in the aerospace & defense industry and has worked on numerous military airborne surveillance systems. Most recently he was senior vice president and general manager of the defense and security business unit at iRobot.

ControlCam is an aerial imaging business focused on delivering high resolution and georeferenced aerial images including oblique imagery. “The company has a solid foundation that has been built over the last 25 years and has a reputation of being a leader in aerial signal testing and is introducing promising new technology into the world of aerial photogrammetry,” said Wilson.

Members of the Michigan Zeta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at Kettering University (MI), recently built dog agility equipment to create a “puppy playground” as a service project for Genesee County Animal Shelter Dogs and Cats. In the video below, Utah is testing out one of the pieces of equipment.

Austin C. ShafferCO A 2016, is a petroleum engineering major at the Colorado School of Mines and third team All-American; he is a sprinter on the men’s track and field team, was named RMAC First Team All-Academic this year, and is a two-time Academic All-District selection.
