Elizabeth “Beth” Stephan, Ph.D., (OH K ’93), has been named the 2015 Tau Beta Pi Outstanding Advisor. Dr. Stephan is a senior lecturer in the general engineering program at Clemson University. She has more than 20 years of dedicated service to Tau Beta Pi. Currently, she is the chief advisor to the South Carolina Alpha Chapter of TBP at Clemson. The research engine StartClass recently profiled the Tau Beta Pi/SAE Engineering Scholarship for incoming freshmen students at an ABET accredited program. The President of the University of Alabama (UA) has announced that Kevin W. Whitaker, Ph.D. (MI Z ’80), has been selected to serve as the Interim Provost at UA beginning this summer. Dr. Whitaker was cited for his “leadership skills, experience, and his collaborative and analytical approach to decision making.” Previously, he has served as a professor of aerospace engineering and associate dean for academic programs in UA’s College of Engineering.
